A Message from the Dean...
Let me extend a warm welcome to everyone. We can
look forward to new courses and programmes for our students whose
educational needs are changing rapidly. Major themes such as
Environment are pressing on everyone’s world and we will address them
forcefully. Digital Technologies and Engineering create new worlds and
our teaching and research is contributing to successful interventions
and new designs.
Mathematics and Statistics are strong disciplines in their own
right and also underpin the rigorous analysis and modelling required
for new policies, designs and systems.
International Development, Systems and Management inform and frame
these policies and their practical implementation. The Faculty has the
full range of disciplines to make a real difference.
Excellence and Influence
The Faculty is a place where excellence is expected and high
levels of influence achieved. We will look to develop excellence and
external impact further in our education and research both nationally
and internationally. Research is the cornerstone, education the great
prize and democratic empowerment through knowledge our aim for all our
students and staff.
